Dr. Andrew teaches courses in biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and general chemistry. He is an ardent supporter of undergraduate research experiences. Dr. Andrew’s bioinorganic research group studies the structure and reactivity of iron-containing heme proteins from the biological nitrogen cycle. His research, supported by the National Science Foundation, involves undergraduate students at EOU, as well as a team of scientists from the US and abroad. The earlier a student gets involved, the better!

Christopher Walsh, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Eastern Oregon University, and teaches courses in GIS & Remote Sensing, Environmental Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis. The chemistry program at EOU is equipped with a range of state of the art instrumentation and trains our students in analytical techniques including Gas and Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, and UV/VIS, IR, FTIR and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
Dr. Walsh received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the College of William & Mary, a Masters of Science in Oceanography & Atmospheric Science from Oregon State University and a doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from Oregon State University. Dr. Walsh’s research group studies the transport and fate of environmental pollutants, using a combination of transport modeling, field sampling, and laboratory analysis, with a focus on atmospheric transport and deposition processes.
