  • Dedicated Advising: You have a point of contact at both institutions to guide you from your first class to graduation.
  • Clear Check Sheets: We provide specific pathway documents that map out exactly what you need for your degree, minimizing wasted credit hours.
  • Seamless Transfer: We focus on strategic embedment of general education and lower-division core requirements (such as BUS 226) directly into your BMCC associate degree.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the Eastern Alliance?

The Eastern Alliance is a collaborative partnership between BMCC and EOU that creates a streamlined, supported pathway for students earning an associate degree at BMCC to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program at EOU.

Who do I talk to about transferring?

BMCC is your first point of contact for advising. Our advisors at both BMCC and EOU work closely together to ensure you stay on track and satisfy all requirements for your chosen bachelor’s degree.

Are there benefits for BMCC employees?

Yes. Through the Eastern Alliance, up to four BMCC employees per term are eligible for an EOU tuition discount.

  • Discount Amount: 25% per credit hour tuition discount, applied as an institutional fee remission for up to 12 credit hours per term.
  • Eligibility: This is a “last-dollar” benefit, applied after all other financial aid. Employees must be in good academic standing.
  • Applicability: The discount applies to both on-campus and online undergraduate courses.

How are the employee tuition discounts determined?

BMCC determines which employees receive the tuition discount based on internal procedures established by the President, with priority given to those intending to complete a degree program. BMCC must forward the list of recipients to EOU’s Financial Office Scholarship Coordinator two weeks before the term begins.

What happens to my courses if I transfer?

We strive to maximize your credit transfer. EOU provides a specific pathway check sheet that identifies exactly how your BMCC coursework satisfies general education, institutional, and upper-division elective requirements at EOU.
