The Eastern Oregon University Board of Trustees will meet on campus on May 18 and 19 for its final meeting of the academic year.
The board will vote on tuition and fees, room and board rates, and the preliminary operating budget for 2023. The board will consider approving the university’s plan for its Educator Equity Grant funds. The proposal for a new Master in Counseling program will also be presented for Board approval. The trustees will also vote on amendments to board statements for diversity and equity and conduct of meetings.
Executive Director of the Higher Education Coordinating Commission Ben Cannon will discuss the role of higher education in the Future Ready Oregon initiative. Resolutions are planned for amending the trustee ethics affirmation and extending the President’s contract. President Insko will also announce EOU’s 2022 Teacher Excellence Award recipient.
Representatives from EOU’s shared governance groups will report to the board for the final time this year. Trustees will receive their annual training on diversity, equity, inclusion and access (DEIA) systems and practices and a briefing on educational programs metrics.
