LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University has been recognized by The Military Times as a “Best for Vets” School.
The Military Times annually sends a survey to colleges and universities across the nation asking about their programs for veterans. The survey results are then analyzed, along with public data about colleges and universities obtained from the Department of Education and Department of Veterans Affairs, and turned into an official ranking.
The designation sets EOU apart and identifies the university as an ideal fit for potential military and veteran students.
EOU is ranked 13th Nationally and 1st in the Pacific Northwest for schools that are primarily online.
“I feel when a student comes here and makes contact they get first-class treatment,” Kerry Thompson, Military/Veteran Coordinator for EOU, said. “We’re Veterans, We make sure our Military Connected students are directed to the resources that they need and they are taken care of during their time at EOU.”
EOU routinely is among the top 15% of military-friendly schools nationwide. EOU works to provide resources, credit for military service, scholarships, and benefits for spouses and dependents.
“I’ve got nothing to say but good things, the smaller class sizes are better for me, smaller is better.” Anger said. “It has all been super smooth.”
Kerry said there are systems in place at EOU to help veterans, including priority registration.
