Feb. 15, 2019 LA GRANDE, Ore. – The International Student Association (ISA) at Eastern Oregon University is holding its 32nd annual International Dinner and Show Friday, Feb. 22.
EOU is home to many international students from around the world. Students from Australia, Mexico, France, Sweden, England, Nigeria, South Africa, Germany, China, and the Pacific islands have all come to EOU and are eager to share their culture with the La Grande community.
“We are honored to share our different cultures and experiences to bring unique diversity here to EOU and La Grande,” said Jorge Chavez Vazquez, the club’s president from Mexico.
The theme of this year’s show is “How much do you know about the world?” and it encompasses a variety of performances from different countries with an interactive educational segment for each country. The show will be held in Mackenzie Theatre at 7 p.m.
Prior to the show, attendees are invited to an international dinner that showcases cuisines from around the world. This year’s menu includes: fish and chips from England, chinese dumplings from China, apple strudel from Germany, pork tacos from Mexico, spring rolls from Vietnam, and a milk tart from South Africa. The dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. in Hoke Union Building, Room 339.
General admission tickets cost $12 and student tickets cost $10 for entry to both the dinner and show. Tickets are available for purchase at the EOU Bookstore, the EOU Multicultural Center and The Looking Glass Bookstore in La Grande.
