Experiential Learning:Through this role, RAs gain hands-on experience in community building, conflict resolution, event planning, and leadership. These experiences are directly applicable to academic courses and future careers, helping students develop key employability skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.
Professional Development:RAs receive specialized training, including the Spring RA Leadership Course, Fall training sessions, and ongoing support from Residence Life staff. These trainings focus on leadership development, crisis management, and communication, preparing RAs for success in any professional setting.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Build and maintain a positive and inclusive community atmosphere.
– Serve as a resource for residents and connect them with campus support services.
– Plan and implement programs that foster academic, personal, and social growth.
– Enforce university and residence hall policies.
– Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to emergencies.
– Assist with residence hall openings, closings, and administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:– Currently enrolled at EOU with at least 6 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits.
– Minimum GPA of 2.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
– At least sophomore standing (45 credits) and one year of college experience by Fall 2024.
– Must reside in assigned housing.
– Pass a background check pending employment offer.

– Leadership potential demonstrated through academic, extracurricular, or community activities.
– Organizational and time management skills for balancing responsibilities.
