Experiential Learning: | Students will learn essential skills in facility maintenance, time management, and attention to detail. This position fosters a sense of responsibility and community engagement, aligning with principles of cleanliness and organization. |
Professional Development: | Training will be provided on proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, and adherence to safety protocols. Students will also develop skills in teamwork and communication. |
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions: | – Clean and sanitize community kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, appliances, and floors. – Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly. – Report any maintenance issues or damages to the supervisor promptly. – Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishments are needed. – Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines. |
Minimum Qualifications: | – Must be a current student residing in the residence halls. – Eligible for Federal Work Study funding. – Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20 pounds and standing for extended periods. |
Preferred Qualifications: | – Previous custodial or cleaning experience. – Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. |
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: | – Knowledge of cleaning practices and use of cleaning equipment. – Ability to manage time effectively. – Good communication skills. |
