This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in critical exercise physiology testing and analysis, support faculty and students, and manage lab operations. Experiential Leaning:As an HHP LEAP Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in exercise science. You will conduct and analyze non-medical performance and physiology testing, maintain and organize the HPL lab, collaborate in research activities, schedule and manage testing appointments, and engage in wellness assessments for local educators. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from your studies to real-world tasks, enhancing your understanding of exercise physiology.
Professional Development:This position offers numerous professional development opportunities. You will receive job-specific training provided by the Health and Human Performance Department and participate in University-wide training events. Additionally, you will have access to multicultural-sponsored training activities, career exploration activities via Career Services, and resume reviews with Career Services and/or WorkSource Oregon. These experiences will help you build professional competencies such as communication, management, and analytical skills, preparing you for diverse career paths.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Work with faculty to identify community health needs
– Design and implement health programs
– Evaluate the impact of health programs
– Engage with community stakeholders
– Conduct research and present findings
Minimum Qualifications:– EOU undergraduate, full-time enrollment
– Declared Major in Health and Human Performance, preferably with a Community Health concentration
– Good academic standing
Preferred Qualifications:– Experience in community health
– Knowledge of program planning and evaluation

– Critical thinking and flexibility
– Professional work ethic and time management
