Experiential Learning: | This position provides direct experience in sports administration, event coordination, and conflict resolution. The student will develop leadership skills by assisting in managing intramural leagues, working with student employees, and handling game-day operations. |
Professional Development: | This role helps students build management and teamwork skills that are valuable for careers in sports administration, recreation management, and leadership roles in any field. |
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions: | – Assist the Intramural Director during intramural sports events. – Ensure each game has the required officials and scorekeepers. – Help student employees and teams navigate game procedures. – Manage team brackets and update game results. – Resolve conflicts between teams during games. – Step in to supervise intramurals when the director is unavailable. – Serve as a resource for students with questions about intramurals. |
Minimum Qualifications: | – Current enrollment at EOU. – In good academic standing. – Federal Work Study eligibility. – Responsible, trustworthy, and able to work independently. – Availability during afternoon and evening hours. |
Preferred Qualifications: | – Prior experience with intramural sports or event coordination. – Experience in a leadership or supervisory role. – Strong communication and leadership skills. – Ability to manage conflicts and problem-solve in real time. |
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: | – Organizational skills to manage team brackets and game schedules. – Ability to remain calm and professional during disputes. – Knowledge of various intramural sports and their rules. |
