Job Duration June 9 – Sept. 20, 2025. Working during enrollment breaks is expected.
Type of work schedule Flexible schedule – agreed upon.
Shifts/Range of Hours Needed for the Position: M, T, TH, F, 12-9pm, and Saturdays, 11am-7pm.

Experiential Learning:– Students will develop interpersonal skills, through working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
– Students will learn the key components of working in a team environment, and how to be an effective team player.
– Students will develop outdoor skills, equipment knowledge, and learn about program administration.
– Students will develop effective skills to work independently.
– Students will become familiar with risk management procedures and safety protocols in recreation management. 
– Students will gain critical knowledge in outdoor program administration and management.
Professional Development:Employee will receive First Aid/CPR training and certification. In addition, employee will be trained to manage the Climbing Center and be belay certified.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Support OAP programming with superior customer service skills
– Assist OAP Director with outdoor programming and activity coordination
– Meet campus groups to talk about OAP services 
– Provide EOU students, faculty/staff, and community members with outdoor equipment and information in the OAP rental shop in a friendly, engaging, and respectful manner
– Gain a firm understanding of rental shop equipment inventory and rental program and be able to competently use RentMaster software
– Be able to conduct routine maintenance and repair of OAP outdoor equipment and gear
– Be responsible for money transactions, accounting, and daily student account deposits
– Help overseeing the safe operation of the climbing center and supervise indoor climbing users
– Gain proficiency in indoor climbing skills and provide belay services and instruction to climbing center users
– Assist the OAP in generating enthusiasm in the university community for outdoor programming and activities
Minimum Qualifications:– Attending EOU (on campus or online) an enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits
– In good academic standing
Preferred Qualifications:– Strong interest in connecting the campus and community
– Excellent interpersonal skills in working with both colleagues and the public
– Excellent interpersonal skills in working with diverse groups
– Motivated and able to work independently 
– Excellent and positive work references 

– Have a strong connection to and willingness to learn about the outdoors and outdoor sports
