Experiential Leaning:As a Registrar’s Office Student Worker, you will gain practical experience in managing student records, processing transcript requests, and assisting with course registration. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge from your studies to real-world administrative tasks, enhancing your understanding of educational policies and record management.
Professional Development:This position offers numerous professional development opportunities. You will receive job-specific training provided by the Office of the Registrar and participate in University-wide training events. Additionally, you will have access to multicultural-sponsored training activities, career exploration activities via Career Services, and resume reviews with Career Services and/or WorkSource Oregon. These experiences will help you build professional competencies such as communication, confidentiality management, and office administration, preparing you for diverse career paths.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Set up and maintain student records in the database.
– Update and organize student files regularly.
– Process transcript orders and other related requests efficiently.
– Update student demographic data as needed.
– Assist with the processing of course registration materials.
– Help with the preparation and filing of graduation petitions.
– Scan documents and manage electronic file uploads.
– Perform other duties as assigned to support the Registrar’s Office.
Minimum Qualifications:– Must be an on-campus student with federal financial aid-approved work-study awarded.
– Ability to maintain composure and communicate effectively with office staff, students, and other constituents.
– Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
– Understanding that violations of privacy laws will result in immediate termination.
Preferred Qualifications:– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Strong problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and self-starter.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
– Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
