Experiential Learning:The Registrar’s Office Work Study position at Eastern Oregon University offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education administration. As a student employee, you will engage in a variety of administrative tasks that are essential to the operation of the Registrar’s Office, including maintaining student records, processing requests, and assisting with course registration. This role provides a practical understanding of administrative processes, particularly in the areas of data management and compliance with university policies.
Professional Development:You will develop critical professional skills such as effective communication, organizational abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential information with discretion. The position also offers opportunities for professional development through department-specific training and university-wide initiatives, including career exploration activities and resume-building workshops. By the end of your tenure, you will be well-prepared for future roles in office administration and other professional environments, having gained valuable experience and a deeper understanding of the operational side of higher education.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Maintain student records in the database
– Process student related requests efficiently
– Scan documents and manage electronic file uploads
– Perform other duties as assigned to support the Registrar’s Office
Minimum Qualifications:– Must be an on-campus student with federal financial aid-approved work-study awarded
Preferred Qualifications:– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong problem-solving skills, great attention to detail and self-starter
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
– Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and faculty
– Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
– Understanding that violations of privacy laws will result in immediate termination
