Experiential Learning:Students will gain practical skills in office administration, event planning, and engaging with campus departments. This role also offers experience in customer service, content creation, and project management.
Professional Development:This position offers numerous professional development opportunities, including job-specific training provided by the Student Affairs Office and participation in University-wide training events. You will develop essential skills in communication, organization, and customer service by interacting with students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, you will have access to career exploration activities via Career Services, multicultural-sponsored training activities and events, and resume reviews with Career Services and/or WorkSource Oregon. These experiences will prepare you for future career opportunities by enhancing your professionalism and understanding of administrative processes.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Provide general office support, including answering phones and assisting with student inquiries.
– Assist with creating and managing marketing content for social media and print campaigns to enhance student engagement
– Help organize and maintain the office environment, including inventory management and mail delivery.
– Data entry, paperwork processing, and using office software such as Google Drive and Microsoft Office for ongoing projects
– Assist with special projects and events hosted by the Student Affairs office
Minimum Qualifications:– Federal Work-Study Eligibility Required
Preferred Qualifications:– Experience in office administration or customer service.
– Strong organizational and communication skills.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
– Organizational Skills: Proficient in managing multiple tasks and maintaining order.
– Technical Skills: Competence in using office software and performing data entry.
– Interpersonal Skills: Effective at providing customer service and handling inquiries.
