Michael earned his B.S. in Information Science and his M.B.A. from Robert Morris University near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His doctoral studies were in Business Information Systems, with a primary emphasis in computer-mediated social interaction. His research is focused on developing a theoretical framework relating media characteristics, social identity and group dynamics in online interaction.
Michael’s teaching is also informed by practical experience in operations management and systems development roles. He has worked in a number of industries over 24 years, advancing through line, staff, administrative, and management roles, and has been involved with companies that ranged from small manufacturing firms with just a few employees to transnational corporations that employed more than ten thousand. His business career progressed through positions in production and inventory management, procurement, supply chain and logistics management, and systems analysis, with a major emphasis on resource management strategies.
