Kim is a positive educator that brings over 22 years of distinguished educational experiences toEOU. Prior to joining EOU she was an Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, UniversitySupervisor and teacher K-20. She has a welcoming and understanding demeanor with a deepunderstanding of elementary curriculum and research-based practices. Her instruction andfield guidance are centered around effective outcomes that ensure success for all of her futureteacher candidates. Kim takes the time to connect learning from previous courses to fieldexperiences during a student’s practicum. Her passion is researching best practices inclassroom management and student behaviors. She feels classroom management is anecessary core foundation all teachers need to continue to study. This year she will be a SeniorInstructor II and Education Supervisor in the College of Education at EOU.
Kim received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University inBeaumont, Texas. This enabled her to become an Assistant Principal at a K-5 elementary schoolin Katy, TX. She has her Danielson Certification in Idaho and Texas. Her Bachelor of Arts degreeis in Business and Elementary Education from The University of Houston. She has activeteaching licenses in Idaho and Texas. Additionally, she has an ESL endorsement attached to herteaching license in the states of Idaho and Texas. She also has a Reading Instruction Certificateand a Writing Instruction Certificate from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project atColumbia University in New York.
Kim is originally from Texas but has called the Pacific Northwest home for the last five years.For fun, one will see her hiking, biking, visiting dog parks and playing pickleball with herhusband. Kim and her husband, Chris make their home in the Boise area in Idaho. They havethree older children and one dog named Max who enjoys spending any extra time at the localdog park.
