Jimmy Zamora is a Senior Instructor of Education teaching various subjects and supervising student teachers here at EOU.

After graduating from Oregon State University in 1996, Jimmy began his teaching career in Poulsbo, Washington. He taught 9th grade Horticulture and was the FFA Advisor for three years at Poulsbo Junior High. He then spent two years at Mt. View High School in Vancouver WA, Teaching Environmental Science, Urban Animal Science, Ag Biological Systems, Ag Physical Sciences, and Intro to Ag Sciences, plus was an FFA Advisor. In the summer of 2001, Jimmy was hired to start the Agriculture Education program and FFA chapter at Burns High School, in Burns, Oregon. Over the next 16 years, the program grew from a half-time to a full-time position, offering Animal Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Intro to Ag Science, Natural Resources, Ag Business, Ag Leadership, Welding, and Wood Shop classes. For 5 years, Jimmy also worked half-time as a Range Technician at the Eastern Oregon Agriculture Research Center until the high school position became full-time.

When he’s not busy teaching and supervising student teachers here at EOU, Jimmy enjoys watching his children play sports and other activities. His presence in the community can be seen while he volunteers as a 4-H leader for market livestock, officiates local football and basketball games, and volunteers as a Little League baseball coach.

Jimmy and his wife, Jenell, have 6 children who keep them busy. They own a 10-acre farm where they raise alfalfa hay, bees, chickens & Boer goats, and maintain a large garden and orchard.
