Tara Gekas

Tara Gekas is the Placement Coordinator/Licensing Officer for the College of Education. Tara’s responsibilities include Providing quality field placements, assisting and maintaining relationships with school districts and staff, coordinates and oversees the filing for all Teacher Candidates completing initial licensure and endorsement programs along with creating and delivering training for both Mentor Teachers and University Supervisors. Tara received an Associated Degree in Science from Pima Community College in Tucson Arizona. Tara has lived in La Grande for the past 10 years. Most recently she was a local licensed Insurance Agent and Business owner. Tara’s time is filled with her husband and two young boys. She and her family enjoy spending the majority of their time outdoors, camping, hiking, swimming, and traveling.
