We know parents are looking for ways to help their students get ahead. Through high school support and reduced pricing of college credits your student will be on their way to a great future. Your student can earn early college credit from Eastern Oregon University through dual credit in their high school and directly from EOU faculty. By submitting an application and a financial responsibility form (see student tab), they are approved to take courses throughout the year.

Dual Credit Courses Available at Participating Schools

All of the dual credit courses available to students count towards actual degrees at EOU! Earning both high school and college credit at the same time gets you closer to earning your degree and starting your career. Start your college degree while in high school and explore fields including psychology, business, computer science, teaching, pre-nursing, and so many more.

Starting college coursework early is a great way to have your students explore what is available in their region. Eastern Oregon University partners with many high schools and is also available for students at a discounted rate. Take advantage of helping your student map out their future at Eastern. If students have taken classes from other universities or community colleges our specialist can help guide them to how those credits can work toward a degree at Eastern and what classes to take directly from EOU.

Cost of classes:

Your student can earn up to 45 credits toward their degree and save up to $12,500 on the first year of college tuition!

On Campus – $75 per credit
Online – $75 per credit
High School Dual Credit taken from your high school – $40 a credit

Over multiple courses, this can be a savings of thousands of dollars and can help you earn enough credits to be going into your sophomore year when you come to Eastern. Check with your high school to see if a portion or all of your early college credits can be paid for.

Please remember to remind your student that they will need to be diligent with college coursework. Their work will follow them after graduation and it is important to make sure everyting is completed. If your student is struggling please contact counselors and teachers at the high schools right away for dual credit courses. If your student is taking courses on campus or online, you can email eci@eou.edu to get information about academic support at Eastern.

Parent-specific steps

Fill out the EOU Application – Your student will be expected to fill out an application as soon as possible. See the student tab for more information. Why not start today?
Complete the Financial Responsibility Form – Many of our students will be bringing home Financial Responsibility Forms (see student tab). Check with your district to see if they are covering the cost of the coursework for your student or if you will need to pay the discounted rate directly. Your student will not be ready for coursework until this is completed or determined that it is not needed for your district. Each EOU dual credit teacher will be giving out the paperwork that is needed.
Register for Classes – Students register themselves for their classes. This is the responsibility of the student, not the teacher or EOU/ECI staff. Please encourage your student to be aware of the below deadlines for both first and second semester. .
View EOU Online and On-Campus Courses – For online and on campus coursework students are eligible to register for most 100 level courses, with some exceptions for 200 level. They can take up to 8 credits per term (some exceptions apply). Check out what is available in the upcoming terms (see student tab).
