Develop the comprehensive public management skills needed to meet the demand for well-rounded public administration officials in EOU’s online M.P.A. program. Our online master’s program is designed for working professionals seeking to advance their public service knowledge and skills.
The M.P.A. program curriculum focuses on the implementation and processes of public policy and administration through a rural-informed lens. EOU’s location in rural Oregon and the University’s mission to serve rural communities allow the program and its faculty to provide students with a unique experience navigating all aspects of regional bureaucracy while still maintaining a global perspective.
Students who graduate with a master’s in public administration degree have the opportunity to move into leadership roles in a variety of growing careers. Courses cover a broad range of public administration knowledge, including public policy studies, budgeting, personnel management, land use planning, legislative advocacy and environmental policy and administration. You’ll have access to optional hands-on learning opportunities, such as fieldwork, research projects and collaborative team exercises. In addition, there are optional on-campus learning opportunities through elective courses offered in coordination with EOU’s Regional Outreach and Innovation Centers in Oregon.
