Eastern Oregon University Regional High School Mathematics Competition
For the last several years, Eastern Oregon University has hosted a Regional Math competition for High School students in Eastern Oregon. This year, the competition will take place on Tuesday, April 15th. Up until last year, the event fed to a State-wide competition organized by the Oregon Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Last year, no State-wide competition was held. However, a number of institutions are working to revive it. Until then, EOU is continuing to host the regional event.
Students in grades 8-12 are welcome to participate. (Small schools may use students in 7th grade to complete a team). The state contest this year includes four categories: Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. Our regional competition includes six categories – the four above plus Pre-Algebra and Algebra I.
