Educational Programs, Resources & Opportunities

The IDEAL Training for Students is designed to explore and address the structures and cultures within higher education that impact success. The program emphasizes love as praxis, serving as a framework to empower students to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.

Through a tailored curriculum that incorporates critical reflection, practical tools, and community engagement, the program seeks to increase student retention and engagement while fostering institutional transformation grounded in love, empathy, and justice.

The IMPACT Training for Faculty and Staff is designed to equip educators and staff with justice-centered pedagogical skills and practices. This program fosters a deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism while providing the tools needed to implement culturally informed and equitable approaches in the classroom and across campus.

By focusing on deconstructing traditional educational theories and developing strategies that align with equity minded principles, the program aims to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment where all students, faculty and staff can thrive.

The CONECTATE Conference & Gathering is a vibrant event designed to empower and celebrate Latino serving organizations, friends, allies and communities.

Participants SHARE their stories and impactful work, LEARN about key topics in education, health and wellness, leadership, and community engagement, and CONNECT with organizations dedicated to serving Latino communities in the region. Join us to inspire, collaborate, and strengthen our collective impact!

The Celebrate, Educate, Appreciate Diversity (CEAD) Conference is a professional development opportunity that aligns with the University’s mission to prepare students for leadership in a diverse and interconnected world. Through meaningful dialogue, participants gain a deeper understanding of power, privilege, biases, and stereotypes, while exploring diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.

The conference fosters personal growth, critical thinking, and leadership skills, empowering students to transform diversity challenges into opportunities and advocate for inclusivity. By engaging with these topics, participants develop knowledge and skills in diversity, equity, and social justice, equipping them to be responsible, reflective leaders and advocates for a more inclusive campus and community.

The EOU Mountie Allies Program is a supportive network of students, faculty, and staff dedicated to fostering an inclusive and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ community members. Allies are trained to provide safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate support to those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer.

The program features a two-part training series:

  • Mountie Allies Training 101 introduces participants to foundational allyship concepts through definitions and interactive activities.
  • Mountie Allies Training 102 delves deeper, featuring personal testimonies and discussions on current issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.

Upon completing both sessions, participants receive a designated sticker, signifying their commitment as trained Mountie Allies.
