EXCITING 4-DAY MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE
The Outdoor Adventure Program is excited to offer an outdoor orientation program. This trip is an excellent and fun way for incoming freshman to meet other students, learn about EOU and the surrounding area, make new friends, and start building a community. East Tracks is a fantastic opportunity for personal growth and development, and helps ease the transition into college life. You’ll spend time and build friendships with EOU student leaders and get to know EOU faculty/staff.
SCHOLARSHIPS COVER THE COST
This outdoor orientation program for new students is offered as a 1-credit OUT course. Enrolled students will have the entire cost of the program – tuition and trip fees – paid by Strong Start scholarship funds.

MOVE IN EARLY & GET SITUATED
We will be offering this trip before classes begin in the fall. Incoming freshman have the opportunity to move in early to the residence halls the Saturday before the trip. You don’t have to worry about where to store your stuff in-between the trip and official “Move-In Day.” Space is limited to 18 students, so register early to reserve a spot.
Have a blast on a four-day camping and outdoor recreation extravaganza at Anthony Lakes in the Elkhorn Mountains about a 1-hour drive from campus. We will set up camp next to a beautiful mountain lake and next to fantastic high adventure mountains. From our “basecamp” we can do all kinds of fun activities like paddle boarding, hiking, rock climbing, fishing, swimming, kayaking, mountain biking, and more. No previous experience is necessary and we strongly encourage participants to try new activities. All food and outdoor equipment will be provided. The Outdoor Adventure Program has a well stocked rental shop that can outfit you with the gear you need to make your trip a success for FREE.
You’ll have so many amazing experiences! Enjoy spectacular hikes to nearby alpine lakes and mountain peaks. Learn to rock climb on the craggy granite cliffs. Watch black bear and deer scramble up the steep slopes. Paddle board and kayak on clear mountain lakes. Spend a day giving back by doing a service-based volunteer work project on a nearby trail. You’ll have a chance to develop meaningful relationships with fellow students and EOU faculty and staff. The options are limitless. Get ready for a sensational experience with fellow students and make memories that will last a lifetime!
