Office of Academic Affairs

Introduction

Since 1929, Eastern Oregon University has served communities throughout eastern and rural Oregon and the larger intermountain West. EOU’s core value of providing high-quality personalized education at an affordable price is well-reflected in our institution’s continuing efforts to focus on access, affordability, and engagement with our communities. As such, the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs provides leadership, support, and advocacy to the colleges, other academic units, and regional centers at Eastern Oregon University, ensuring quality and innovation in academic programming, faculty scholarship and creative endeavors, institutional planning and effectiveness, and enrollment management, on campus, online and onsite.

The institution has been continuously accredited since 1931 by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and its predecessor agencies. EOU’s Statement of Accreditation can be found here. Our two professional colleges recently received national accreditation from the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP) and the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).

EOU has caring and knowledgeable faculty members who are excellent academicians and practitioners with knowledge grounded in theory and school/industry-based experiences. They conduct meaningful research and provide service that positively impacts the lives of our partners, community, university, and specialized professions.

To prepare EOU students, we will continue to build relationships with students, faculty, and staff, working together to guide our students toward an exceptional and equitable experience committed to excellence in education and developing them into successful professionals.

I invite you to explore our campus and website and learn more about the people, programs, and initiatives helping us achieve the teaching, learning, assessment, and service mission.
